MINNEAPOLIS (January 18, 2023) –
In June 2022, CTC Software™ launched our cloud shared licensing (CSL), along with the CTC client portal. The CTC client portal puts control of your CTC licensing in your hands directly. Now you have the ability to manage, maintain and even add licenses with ease!
With the launch of CSL, CTC Software will begin retiring the standalone and network licensing models.
Here are some important upcoming dates of which to be aware:
1) Effective May 1st, 2023, customers will no longer be able to renew or purchase standalone (node-locked) licenses. When clients who currently have standalone licenses need to renew their subscriptions, they will be required to migrate to CSL and renew at the CSL pricing level.
While existing standalone licenses whose subscriptions expire after May 1st, 2023 will be able to continue unregistering and reregistering the licenses until the subscription expires, this will only be possible for the current installers that support up to Autodesk® 2023 products.
Future CTC installers which will support Autodesk 2024 and later products will NOT support standalone licenses in any way, including for add-ins in these installers that run in older versions of Autodesk products. (e.g. 2020-2023).
2) Effective May 1st 2024, customers will no longer be able to renew or purchase network floating licenses. When clients who currently have network floating licensing need to renew their subscriptions, they will be required to migrate to CSL and renew at the CSL pricing level.
Network floating license files will no longer be generated after that date. Network floating licenses that expire after that date will continue to work until the subscription expires, but only for the installers that support up to Autodesk 2024 products.
Future CTC installers that will support Autodesk 2025 and later products will NOT support network floating licensing in any way, including for add-ins in these installers that run in older versions of Autodesk products (e.g. 2021-2024).
